Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra explore ideas from a cultural, strategic, and psychological perspective and work collaboratively to produce exuberant and darkly humorous works. In works like Wonder Woman II (2011), T&T mixed iconic Indian motifs with momentous images from the Western pop culture to explore the juxtapositions of the traditional and new, enduring and ephemeral in Indian culture and identity in the 21st century.
Thukral & Tagra’s quirky, kitsch, pop art-like work focuses on the influence of popular western ideologies on India’s deep-rooted cultural heritage, fine art, artistic inspiration, and media hype. The duo’s compositions demanded an array website architecture that would allow the user to easily navigate through various ingenious sections showcasing the various segments at one fell swoop.
We weaved a wireframe for user interface design with CMS integration to get an interactive responsive platform that brought together their varied work in art and design. The digital strategy was conceived, designed and composed to express and highlight the distinctive values of their work.
